Specifically in the Infintiti G20.
I may have the chance to buy one down the road. Anyone own an SR20 powered car? Anyone own a G20?

One of the stupidest people I have ever known had a G20. He replaced it with an IS300. One could argue that he had halfway decent taste in cars in spite of being an imbecile, but I can't help but associate those two cars with this particular dolt.

They look like '95-'99 Legacy sedans. That's all I got.

How nice is this G20 and do you want a 4 door compact?
Basically a SR20 equipped Sentra SE-R would be a better car that's similar. That's if you are looking for a fun sport compact and not like a daily driver grocery getter.

I don't have any experience with the G20, but I've always lied them!
I LOVE small 4-cylinder luxury cars! The G20 has a great, possibly unmatched, combination of luxury, prestige, reliability, sportiness, and economy. Plus, you can get a manual transmission and heated seats, in a reliable Japanese luxury car that gets decent gas mileage.
Bose CD player, automatic climate control, leather, sunroof, and if yours has heated seats, then that's awesome (but they don't all have heated seats).
Plus, you can get Bilstein HD shocks for them. Koni reds may also be available. Decent aftermarket support.

I've got an SE-R with an SR20 out of a G20. Mine has some idling problems that could be MAF/IAC related, which I've heard are pretty common. Other than that it runs great though. I'm saving up for an SR20VE down the road though...

Go for it. If the Nissan drift guys can install big turbos and injectors etc. and up the boost past 20psi and still have (fairly) reliable motors, there is definitely something to be said for them. From what I have heard they have intake problems here and there (IACV, MAF, etc...) but nothing routine maintenance can't handle.

yeah the aftermarket potential is looking very promising. I wouldn't mind slapping a cheap turbo on one. I wonder how much power the clutch can handle.

I actually love how the legacy GT's look

Yeah it's not a bad little car for the money.

I'd rather have the Sentra but those are exponentially harder to find in good condition.

I'd much rather have the SE-R, those are just so much harder to find. How easy is it to work on the SR20?
Good luck on the SR20VE.. Those are sweet engines.

I am still amazed that the Nissan Primera, one of the blandest mid-sizers ever, that wasn't prticularly good at anything got sold as an upmarket entry-level luxury car in the US.

I've always had this weird attraction to them too.
Imagine if they were RWD....

And now they're pretty well liked by tuners too.

It'd be easy to work on if I knew what I was doing half the time:) But you shouldn't have any problems, they're fairly simple engines and there's a ridiculously large aftermarket. The DEs probably even simpler, being a not-turbo or NEO-VVL engine.
I'd definitely get it if it's in decent shape. Throw a decent exhaust on it and you'll have a quick, good looking, awesome sounding car! Also, depending on the spec of the G20, it may or may not have an LSD (I believe the G20t and G20s had one). I'd highly recommend one of those; they're pretty sweet handling little cars.

How'd you like it? I wouldn't mind picking one up.. There's a black one on gold stock wheels in my neighborhood and it looks pretty nice.

Except for the head gaskets, trans snout, and rust it was a GREAT CAR. I had WRX struts and springs on it, a Kartboy shifter, and half a Borla 2.5 exhaust.

The rust might be in issue. Besides that it sounds like a solid choice for a car. There's a manual wagon near me with barely over 100k.

Yes, a lot of people seem to autocross and race them.
